DC Nation's Farm League introduced a barnyard version of the Justice League. This JLA (of Animals) was led of course by Superman's analogue - Supermanatee. Ha ha.
Over the series of shorts, the slow and clumsy Supermanatee did face off against the villainous Lex Liger. Overall, the shorts were a tad underwhelming and not the greatest of tributes to the Man(atee) of Steel.
Interestingly, the Superman animal was originally conceived as a duck. I guess that just wasn't funny enough, even though a duck is certainly more farm friendly than a manatee. I don't remember singing "Old MacDonald Had a Farm e-i-e-i-o and on that farm he had a manatee...!?" As for Bizarro's animal form Bizarrfo - I guess on the farm, a dog is now the opposite of a manatee... which makes as much sense as a manatee even being found on a farm in the first place.
Check back next week for another chapter in The Super History of Superman.
