Perhaps its a tribute to the Man of Steel that a world without Superman is as bleak as that depicted in The Flashpoint Paradox. On the other hand, its a bit depressing seeing the anemic results of government program Project Superman.
Although Kal ends up being basically a "no-op" (a phrase coined by me and some other nerdy computer scientists) he is a no-op with a punch and I guess the resistance wouldn't have been complete without him.
Of course, a hulking Superman also got an appearance in the pre-tampered with world. Still not a lot too look at in this incarnation, but certainly a lot beefier than the apocalyptic version.
Check back next week for another chapter in The Super History of Superman.
