Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Scorpio

Its only been a couple episodes since the friends battled insects - though last time it was the Friends who were bug sized. This time the bugs were the big ones. But seriously this was a retread that even featured a similar subplot of a giant tomato - at least this one didn't have teeth. And in case you didn't guess, Scorpio was a giant scorpion mastermind who resembled an alien (you know, from Aliens). This was another lousy effort, but at least the Scarlet Streak made a showing. I may have given it a pass if Scorpio had actually eaten Robin, but alas, no pass.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - The Termites From Venus

Oh boy, this was truly dreadful. The giant insects trope is already one that I find to be lame and nerve gas spewing space bugs isn't any better. The worst part of the episode was that the heroes were really beat up a lot by the nearly invincible swarm and Earth nearly destroyed but in the end, Samurai saved the day with a tornado. I basically hate this episode.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - The Spider Takes a Bride

Believe it or not, I may be turning a corner on this show. The running time is still definitely too long, but I'm gaining an appreciation for a couple of aspects of the show. The series has consistently offered creative villains. Take this episode for instance, a tie wearing human spider hell bent on marriage. That's hilarious. The second thing I appreciate is that the show often throws in one extra ridiculous element to go the extra mile. No, a talking Man-Spider wasn't enough without a gun that turned people into flies... What!? That crosses the blurry line between genius and insanity. This episode gets extra points for a Batman reference when Plas took the form of a bat and said he hoped that "other guy" wasn't offended.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - The Final Challenge

Another great and memorable one. In this episode, the heroes and villains were pitted matches that would determine who lived and who died, Star Trek Arena style. And while I guess not all the heroes could win their bouts, poor Aquaman lost to Darth Manta (who oddly now pilots a space ship) and Apache Chief was outwitted by Scarecrow. Batman defeated the Riddler, Wonder Woman beat Cheetah, and Superman bested Bizarro. In the end, the Friends and Legion teamed against their games master and the status quo prevailed.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - The Incredible Space Circus

The episode opened strong with some cowboys on flying horses wrangling a space dragon... Who said they were running out of ideas?  But sometimes outrageous is just what the doctor ordered and this one sure was crazy. After all, everyone loves Wonder Rhino.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Conquerors of the Future

Ah, another classic. In this one, the Legion acted as if they had reformed, beating the heroes to avert crises. It was pretty hilarious watching as the Legion acted shocked that they were being accused of any wrong doing. Why ever would the Friends have gotten that idea? And then out of the blue the episode changed plots.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - The Beasts Are Coming

No, it wasn't an animated Dune but we did get giant bugs for the 3rd of the Wonder Twins adventures in a row. Let me tell you, its a lot easier to get excited about Sinestro and Gorilla Grodd than a giant worm even if the worms nearly sank the west coast.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Attack of the Vampire

The Wonder Twins segments so far have been a bit rough. Pairing them with the Legion of Doom segments only emphasizes their shortcomings, but I still admit to having huge expectations going into this one. It wasn't a great episode BUT Super-Vamp all but redeemed it.The Wonder Vamps were the icing on the cake.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - The Pied Piper From Space

After Sinbad the space pirate, now its time for the pied piper from space. Yeah, I get it. Space was big, but what's next? Snow White and the 7 astronauts from space? For some reason, Senor Piper came by way of a flying Simon game... which I guess at least is better than a space sail boat.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Coming of the Arthropods

At first the banishment of criminal bug people to Earth didn't seem such a big deal especially since they were bug sized (well maybe more like parrot sized). But their mind control ability quickly made them a force to be reckoned with.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - The Chemo-Creature

This episode got off to a bad start when a red ant being irradiated by scientist is actually not red at all. Anyway, not only did the ant get big as intended but it developed some powers including a gas spraying snout and laser antennae. And the chase was on for the Flash to catch the bug. In the end, the bug reverted to being just "a little ant with big dreams." Hardy har har.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Invasion of the Beetle-Men

Hopefully not a lot of epileptics watched this show because there was strobing and flashing galore. I'm not epileptic, but even I felt a mild seizure coming on.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - The Toyman's Super-Toy

The Toyman's back. His latest toy was a giant robot bug! Sweet, giant bugs two episodes in a row.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - War of the Bee Battalion

When giant bees strike its a job for Superman. After swatting the bugs however, they shrank down to normal size requiring some investigative journalism.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - The Lethal Lightning Bug

A bug mutated into a monster that only Superman could stop. Holy cow! That lethal lightning bug laid waste to a croc. Superman was in for a "shock."

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Insect Raiders

Giant bugs attacked a ship. They weren't really bugs though, they were people in bug suits. That explains that... Then they kidnapped Jimmy and placed him on explosive eggs as a hostage while they went on another raid.
