Crisis of Infinite Episodes - New Teen Titans: Kidz Korner 4 Kidz

This was the Titans version of a Sesame Street style "kidz" show. Although it was not the most successful effort from the shorts series, it was fun seeing a ton of cameos including one by the ever coy Wonder Girl.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - MAD Presents Teen Titanic

I thought there were a couple of really hilarious lines in this one; Raven on the ship's bow and Aqualad's trick were both classic. I also got a kick out of Robin sketching Beast Boy. Perhaps the MAD to non MAD ratio of shorts is beginning to get out of whack, but so far I haven't minded the reuse of the shorts since they have been reasonably funny.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Teen Titans Recap

I think its worth emphasizing Wonder Girl's role in these adventures. Wonder Girl was the very first female superhero to get an animated treatment, even before Wonder Woman (even if they were technically the same person). On the team, she was arguably portrayed as the most competent and powerful member of the team. Unfortunately, she was also subjected to lots of "doll" and "chick" jesting. Regardless, she is one of the key elements that made Teen Titans such a success. All three of the Teen Titans adventures were enjoyable, and for once we also got some slight variety with one invasion, one monster themed episode, and the final rescue episode. Any of the three episodes were watch worthy, but I choose Operation Rescue as the one to watch.

Essential Episode:
Operation Rescue

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - DC Super Heroes

In 1968's Superman / Aquaman Hour of Adventure, episodes of Superman, Superboy, and Aquaman, were mashed together with those of a rotating slate of guest heroes including the Atom, the Flash (with Kid Flash), Green Lantern, Hawkman, the Justice League (comprised of all the adult heroes including Superman), and the Teen Titans (with regularly featured kid sidekicks Aqualad and Kid Flash joined by Wonder Girl and Speedy).

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - The Stickmen of Stygia

Aqualad and Mera planned a hilarious practical joke pretending the ocean was being invaded (because that NEVER happens). Ha Ha, good one Laddie.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - The Brain, The Brave and the Bold

Watching this episode was like getting a hearing exam, only I didn't know which hand to raise.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Menace of the Black Manta

Not bad. There were a lot of things to like here. First of all, I enjoyed Aquaman's supporting cast. Not only do you get the main hero, but a sidekick with Aqualad (who Aquaman creepily calls "Tadpole"), a superpet with Tusky the Walrus, rideable seahorses Storm and Imp (and Mera's pink horse), and of course the undersea redhead bombshell Mera who even provided a Botticelli Birth of Venus homage as she emerged from giant sea clam. [/wolf whistle] Maybe I just have a thing for fish. Aquaman on the other hand didn't seem to appreciate her very much as he just rode of at the end leaving her behind. Not very chivalrous. I think she could do better (wink wink).

Update: Young Justice is Coming

UPDATE:
Below is the official description. Looks like it will be Superboy not young Superman and Arrowette is now Artemis. Hopefully ate some point Wonder Girl will be allowed to appear.

Young Justice - In Young Justice, being a teenager means proving yourself over and over—to peers, parents, teachers, mentors and, ultimately, to yourself. But what if you’re not just a normal teenager? What if you’re a teenage super hero? Are you ready to join the ranks of the great heroes and prove you’re worthy of the Justice League? That’s exactly what the members of Young Justice — Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Superboy, Miss Martian and Artemis—will find out, whether they have what it takes to be a proven hero. This all-new series is produced by Warner Bros. Animation and based upon characters from DC Comics. Sam Register (Teen Titans, Ben 10, Batman: The Brave and the Bold) is the executive producer. Brandon Vietti (Batman: Under the Red Hood, Superman Doomsday, The Batman) and Greg Weisman (Gargoyles, The Spectacular Spider-Man, W.I.T.C.H.) are the producers.

According to Toonzone, an announcement for the animated Young Justice series is imminent. and we even got a new, non-leaked image. Looks like a pretty good line-up though I am not sold on the look for Martian Girl. I also wonder, given all the legal tanglings with Superboy, if that is actually Superboy as opposed to the Legion of Superheroes solution of just using a young Superman. Can't wait to hear more about this series.

Young Justice for Aqualad

Here is a look at the young lad who will be joining Arrowette in the Young Justice animated series. Keep the images coming!

Spotlight on Aqualad

If you think Aquaman has it rough being the constant butt of jokes in the DC Universe, think about how his sidekick must feel. The lad first appeared in the 1967 DC Super Heroes Filmation series as a member of the Teen Titans.

In 1968, this same incarnation of the the character appeared as Aquaman's sidekick in the animated Aquaman series. Here he was frequently called by his affectionate nickname, "Tadpole." He fought along side with not only Aquaman but with their mascot walrus Tusky and their trusty steeds Storm and Imp.

Aqualad would resurface some 30+ years later on the Teen Titans animated series eventually becoming a member of the Titans East team.

In 2010, Aqualad would return once again with a look much more in line with his classic design on Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

The episode laid the foundation for the Teen Titans formation as the three sidekicks of Batman, Green Arrow, and Aquaman came into their own by defeating R'as Al Ghul. But even though the grown up Robin eventually got pants, Aqualad seemed perfectly content fighting crime in his swim suit.
