Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Doom Patrol - Chapter Six: Trial of the Terrible Titan

I really, really want to love these Doom Patrol shorts - and they do look great. But after being teased with them for over a year its anticlimactic to get Chapter 1 followed by Chapter 6 which ends on a cliffhanger. I mean, what in the world!? Is there even another chapter? Is it chapter 7? Will this be another Sword of the Atom debacle that ended without a conclusion? The Doom Patrol deserves better. The short itself was fun enough and teased potential, but I think the series may fall short.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Doom Patrol: Chapter One: Challenge of the Timeless Commander

Finally, after being teased for over a year, DC Nation finally debuted Doom Patrol and it was good! The action packed minute definitely broke from the typical comic tradition of the DC Nation shorts, but that was perfectly fine with me. This was a nice introduction to the team and I am very eager to see what else is in store. As far as I am concerned this is another one of those DC properties that has been criminally underused (ala Metal Men). Also like Metal Men and Sword of the Atom, these Doom Patrol shorts make an argument for just bringing back Batman the Brave and the Bold for a couple more seasons.

DC Nation Shorts in the Pipeline

By this point, 18 different series of shorts have aired in part or full on DC Nation, but I am happy to report that there are still more new ideas in the works. As just announced by TV Guide, among those yet to debut include Shazam! and Metal Men as well as a stylish black and white Batman series under the guidance of Bruce Timm. We have also been teased with Doom Patrol for over a year now and hints of a Doctor Fate series have also been heard.

First Look at Bane of Shanghai and More DC Nation Shorts

DC Nation is on a hot streak. Last week's new series Bat Man of Shanghai is perhaps the best yet. Although a skinny Bane made a cameo a just released video preview of upcoming DC Nation shorts gives the first glimpse of a venom infused Bane who will appear this Saturday. This Saturday also teases a New Teen Titans short, Red X Unmasked. Its going to be an epic weekend even if the main shows are in reruns. Along with the glimpse of Shanghai Bane, the preview footage offered first looks at several other upcoming series.

Onscreen History of The Doom Patrol

First beginning their patrols in 1963's My Greatest Adventure #80, The Doom Patrol is a DC team of misfits, perhaps immortalized by the team's death in the final issue of their initial series run. Of course, no one stays dead forever and the team has since experiences a few revivals. Only Robotman has appeared in each incarnation.

First Look at Doom Patrol and Animal Man, Citizens of DC Nation

Just revealed at DC Comics own site are the first official images from two upcoming DC Nation shorts featuring The Doom Patrol and Animal Man and both look fantastic. Although we have known The Doom Patrol would get a set of shorts since the first trailers for the animation block, this is the first look we have of Robot Man and Elasti-Girl (who had the name long before The Incredibles). Negative Man could be glimpsed in some of the previous promotions. The team looks amazing! Of course, this will be the third time The Doom Patrol has made it to the small screen with previous appearances on Teen Titans and Batman: The Brave and the Bold.
