Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Plastic Man in Untouchable

Wish I could think of a clever pun, but these shorts Plastic Man shorts really grew on me. Although its absurd that the gang would all dress in Plastic Man colors, the gag was quite hilarious. Alas Plas, you will be missed.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Plastic Man in Superheroes Wear Pajamas

Plas continues to be consistently charming in this latest entry. I don't think Plastic Man would have much of a chance at sustaining his own series in this day an age, but little dose like this is just what the doctor ordered. Hopefully the demon teddy has a chance for revenge in a follow up. I smell the makings of a classic rivalry.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Plastic Man in The Bat and the Eel

Its like getting a visit from an old friend. After quite a break, another Plastic Man short made its debut and what it lacked in shapeshifting it made up for in Batman! There was also a surprising absence of comedy, but It was a real treat to see a little back story of Plastic Man. Truth is, after enjoying this short I was compelled to revisit the previous three Plas shorts. I realized, this shorts series deserves a lot of credit. It may not be one of my all time favs (those would be Bat Man of Shanghai or Amythest) but its been one of the gems of DC Nation. Also, kudos for the Dark Knightish look of Batman.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Baby Plas Recap

Don't let my distaste for this series fool you. It was still leaps and bound better than Plastic Family. On the other hand I would be just fine if both series evaporated from existence. After the opening and closing credits, the segments were just 3 minutes long making them fairly palatable. In spite of the more kid friendly spelling of SNAFU, Sleepwalking Snafoo gets my vote as the episode to watch, if you must watch one. Its completely possible that I am being to hard on the baby, but its just been a long time since I have watched a good episode. I think I may be getting a little cranky. Its amazing how much better superhero cartoons are nowadays - even the bad ones.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Mummy Madness

An evil mummy was thwarted by Baby Plas using him as a yo-yo. After thousands of years of waiting, you would think the mummy could last more than a minute against an annoying baby. At least the episode had a mummy. For that alone, I will say it was one of the series best.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Frognapped

Baby Plas rescued his escaped frog from a dog catcher by posing as a freaky looking mutt.  So... Why did a dog catcher care about a frog? And, what did this have to do with "napping" the frog. Its not like there was any ransom involved. And why did this get made? Then again my 7 year old daughter thought this was hilarious, so what do I know anyways?

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Tropical Trouble

With a name like Tropical Trouble, I was hoping (believe it or not) for Hula. To no avail. Instead I was treated to an island adventure with a lipstick wearing gorilla that thought Baby Plas was her baby. In the end, Baby Plas delivered the sad gorilla a doll. Nice sentiment, but there is something a little creepy about this episode. I mean, did the gorilla actually have a baby that was off getting eaten by a lion or something while she thought it was in her care?

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Movie Mischief

Baby Plas battles a stray dog at a drive in movie.  The baby got sucked through the movie projector in what could have been a horrible tragedy, but in the end, baby and mutt were fast friends in yet another terrible outing. 3 to go!

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Birthday Blowout

This pretty terrible escapade followed the Baby Plas contest formula where Baby Plas ends up winning by cheating. In this case, after crashing a birthday party he apparently scored a kiss from Alice in Wonderland. Well done Baby Plas, you have now gotten more onscreen action than your dad!

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Sleepwalking Snafoo

I admit it, I liked this episode. Baby Plas caught daddy sleepwalking and had to protect Plastic Man from various dangers. It was reasonably cute and I could actually see one of the modern DC Nation era shorts with a similar plotline. Bravo baby! As for the separate beds... where did Baby Plas come from?

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Baby Sitter Blues

Plas and Penny went out on a date and amazingly they actually hired a babysitter, though not a very good one. I don't know why they let Baby Plas roam freely down the street, even on Halloween, but they don't trust him home alone. In any case, the babysitter and the Baby had a squabble over what show to watch on the TV. Oh Baby Plas... The sitter finally gave in only for the baby to fall asleep. Classic.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Clubhouse Calamities

Once again, an unsupervised Baby Plas got into trouble, this time by hanging with the rough tree house club crowd. Hoping to join the club, Baby Plas had to undergo an initiation which involved climbing a mountain and dodging a dog. After saving the punks lives, he was allowed in the club. Another excellent moral.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Tiger Trouble

Conveniently, Baby Plas found a baby tiger in a zoo mobile driving down his street. Things went sour when the tiger tried to eat their pet bird - actually he did eat the bird but Baby Plas vacuumed him out and glued his feathers back on. How cute... but why did it have to be a baby tiger and not just a cat?

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Witching Worries

Right out of the gate, there were a pair of absurdities in this episode. First off, it was Halloween Night and Plastic Man and Penny decided it would be no problem for their baby to go Trick or Treating by himself. Someone should call Child Protective Services. Second, the witch was making a brew that happened to call for a "plastic boy." Come on! Is that a common ingredient in brews? I don't remember Severus Snape ever mixing any plastic boys into his potions. Other than that, this was okay. I think Baby Plas has been much better than Plastic Family so far. The baby is still annoying, but he sort of gets a pass since he is after all, a baby.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Haircut Headache

Hula Hula was back. Yipee skippy - even though I am not sure why Uncle Hula would take Baby Plas to his first haircut. The baby didn't want a haircut, got chased by a flying hair clipper, and hid as a broom. The clever barber decided to give the broom a haircut and all was well... until they all realized a plastic babies hair would just grow back. Ha ha. What a romp. Now maybe I will go throw myself off of a building.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Baseball Bully

I guess this time the bad luck was all mine since Hula Hula was no where to be seen. Apparently he was just a guest star in the previous episode because Baby Plas was the only regular to show up in this one.  Once again, I learned how great Baby Plas is because he was able to win the baseball game using his powers to cheat. Granted, the other team's bully had it coming, but I am not sure about the message. Then again, if baby Plas used his arm as a bat, he was probably also paying for his home run with a giant bruise. Once again, the best thing I can say about the episode is, at least it was short.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Bad Luck Stroll

So, it looks like the Baby Plas episodes are going to feature the exploits of the baby and Hula Hula and I can't believe I am saying this, but that might actually be an improvement over the Plastic Family series. Say what you want about "bad luck" Hula. At least he is a nice guy. Anyways, I am not expecting too much since this episode had Hula Hula fall off of a construction site with a carton of eggs in order to be saved by the baby. And, at least it was only 3 minutes long.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Plastic Family Recap

Oh my gosh, is it over yet? This series was pretty much horrible - much worse than the Plastic Man series. Not only is it dumb, but Plas is mostly a self-centered jerk. I really don't care to go on and on, but I think its a safe series to skip. For the curious, Mighty Museum Mess is by far the best episode mostly because of its extra absurdity. Otherwise I find very little redeemable in this stinker of a series.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Rodeo Ruckus

Didn't we already see a snow version of this same episode (and a hillbilly one too actually). Plastic Man won by a very stretchy nose. Ha ha /sarcasm. I get it Plas, you are better at everything than everyone else. You are just so cool and so is your boy. If I just admit that can I get out of ever watching this show again?

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - The Kewpie Doll Caper

Baby Plas, the little cheater, used his stretchies to win mommy a kewpie doll at the carnival. I guess cheating is okay if you are the son of a superhero (incidentally Plastic Man is a reformed criminal himself) Only problem, thieves had stashed diamonds in the doll assuming no one could win one.  When Penny's ill gotten doll got snatched, the family plastic was none to happy - guess stealing is only okay when they do it. After a ride through the tunnel of love, Penny got her stupid doll back. Phew.
