Crisis of Infinite Episodes - New Teen Titans: Burping Contest

After the first flat DC Nation short, it was the Teen Titans to the rescue.  5 years after the cancellation of the animated Teen Titans series, it was a real treat to see the gang all back together. Even though the shorts were done exclusively in the cute chibi style, the shorts managed to capture all of the charm of the old series and this one was pretty hilarious. I also love that even Silkie made a showing.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - This Looks Like a Job for Bat-Mite!

Interestingly, this episode picked up right where the last left off causing me to wonder if the show runners weren't planning on changing the name of the series to the Bat-Mite and Friends Show. But alas, this was the series swan song (Do swans really sing?).

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Have an Evil Day

Noticing this was a double length, two-parter, I settled in for something epic and was a bit let down. The first thing I noticed was that the evil Zarbor had relatively normal ears. Bat-Mite's cowl always made me think he had dog ears, but no. Which begs the question, why does his cowl look like that? Next, it was interesting that Zarbor classified Catwoman, Joker, Clayface, and Penguin as Earth's vilest villains. Not only that, but Penguin and Clayface were even given distinction over the other two. All I am saying is that if Penguin is Earth's vilest, we aren't doing too bad.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Birds of a Feather Fool Around Together

El Penguino developed some sort of "crime-slime" that turned people (and mice) evil, never mind that it was actually a gas, the intended effect was intact. Penguin also managed to land a girlfriend / henchwoman Gigi. Even though she was no looker, Penguin having a girlfriend may be the most far fetched element of the episode that's actually saying a lot considering what transpired. In a classic tale of switching places, the crime-slime somehow doubled as a body swapper turning Penguin into Bat-Mite.

Onscreen History of Beta Ray Bill

Although his bares a monstrous mug, Beta Ray Bill has the heart of a hero. In fact, Bill proved worthy to wield Thor's mighty hammer Mjolnir. Eventually Thor's new ally got his own hammer, Stormbreaker. Bill first appeared in the pages of 1983's Thor #337. Why the long face Bill? You are hitting the mainstream!

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Curses! Oiled Again!

Catwoman AND Clayface! Quite an interesting match up. Throw in a little sexism against Batgirl and you have yourself a show. Not a particularly good show, but a show nonetheless.

Bizarro Gets the Classic Treatment

Animator Robb Pratt has done it again. In his first short, Superman Classic, Pratt paid homage to the Golden Age Superman that appeared in the Fleischer theatrical shorts. For round two, the Silver Age has been added to the mix by introducing Bizarro to the formula. The result is simply amazing, I mean, it am horrible.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Dead Ringers

So let me get this straight. The bad guy was able to spot a maskless dude who was a "dead ringer" for Robin AND YET he was unable to identify Dick Grayson as the actual Robin. And for a strange coincidence, the doppelganger just happened to work at the circus as a trapeze performer. Never mind that this exact premise was done before in the Adventures of Batman's Will the Real Robin Please Stand Up?
