Next Next DC Animated Artwork Revealed

Batman: Under the Red Hood isn't even out yet, but thanks to the SupermanHomepage, we have our first glimpse of the DVD art for Superman /Batman Apocalypse. And although we already suspected it, this verifies that the DVD will also include a Green Arrow short. The spacing of these DVDs is odd; February with a 5 month gap til July, then just a 2 month gap until September, then another 5 months until the next February. Anyways, should be fun.

Another Shiny New Airbender Clip

Don't know how much this movie cost, but it sure doesn't look cheap. Again, hope the content justifies the budget and if it does, I hope this is a big hit. They just don't make kids fantasy movies like they used to, but this one looks promising.

Gen¹³ (1999) - Film Capsule

Heroes: Caitlin Fairchild (super strength and agility), Grunge (see The Absorbing Man), and Freefall (manipulator of gravity)

Villains: Threshold (psychokinetic) and Ivana Baiul (cyborg)

Diabolical Scheme: The trio of heroes were subjected to genetic tests and torture to encourage latent mutant abilities to manifest.

Review in 50 Words or Less:
Although there was a surprising amount of blood and violence coming from this Saturday morning style animation, the movie itself was a bit slow moving. I will say that even though the concept is heavily borrowed from the X-Men, the characters were not completely unoriginal or without their charms.

Batman Red Hood Clip

Bad news everyone. The weekly History of Batman feature has reached the present day and from this point on will only be updated on the event of a new Bat-project. But there is some good news. First, here is a clip from the next Batman movie, Batman: Under the Red Hood. Also, look for a new recurring weekly feature to begin in July. My tease is, that it will be Marvel themed. Until next time, adieu.

Hex has Worst DC Opening Since Steel

Click on the chart and get ready to laugh. Although Jonah Hex beat out Marvel's 2008 third attempt at the Punisher (barely), you have to go way back to 1997 and Shaq Fu's sub-million dollar opening weekend to find a worse opening for DC. Even Supergirl (1984) and Superman IV (1987) opened stronger in uninflated dollars. Even 2008's The Spirit opened bigger with an embarrassing $6.5 million! Luckily Hex will get a second chance on the Batman: Under the Red Hood animated DVD. That Jonah Hex short may give the character back some dignity, but its unlikely Jonah will be back on the silver screen anytime soon... or ever.

Green Hornet Trailer Stings the Interweb

It actually looks like a coherent movie that may attract some viewers. I would have to place my anticipation for this solidly above that which I had for Jonah Hex, though of the upcoming superhero movies, this one is still pretty low on the radar. In a year with Thor, Captain America and Green Lantern, The Green Hornet seems a tad unnecessary.

Airbender's Momo Spotted

Here it is folks, the first look at the star of The Last Airbender, Momo. I am sure glad this little guy made the cut. I really hope this movie lives up to half of its potential. Visually, it looks great, but I have been fooled before... Anyways, here is the commercial in which the Momo sighting occurred.
