What a complete and utter waste of a DC Nation short. Some people would argue against the MAD presents concept all together, but I think that some of MAD's best shorts are borderline worthy of being recycled for the DC Nation block... But who in their right mind would enjoy this one? Maybe its just because I have no real idea what Zeke and Luther is, but this short makes it look atrocious. The ONLY redeeming part of this short was the inclusion of Grodd and Grundy, but that still may not be enough to keep it from being the very worst of DC Nation's first 91 efforts.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Legend of the Lost Cavern
This time Swamp Thing raced Arcane to the legendary Fountain of Youth which had a Native American version of the knight from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. The plagiarism was actually quite blatant, though the episode, complete with "trials" like the tunnel of silence was admittedly fairly entertaining.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Falling Red Star
Who would have guessed Swamp Thing had a green thumb? But seriously, who would build a nuclear satellite and allow it to enter a decaying orbit? The Red Star sattellite just happened to land in the swamp setting the stage for another showdown between Swampy and Arcane. This time Bayou Jack became the victim of mutation turning into a giant mantis.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - To Live Forever
Although putting Swamp Thing in the Amazon rain forest seems like a no brainer, getting him there by hitching on a planes landing gear (which evidently never retracted) seems sort of bizarre. Add to that (and this is no joke) Swampy complaining about the lack of in flight snack or movie, and you have yourself some serious camp... or is it nonsensical camp? Swamp thing ended up skydiving and taming a jaguar in this Fern Gully prototype. Oh, and there was a Shaman who could command the animals.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - The Un-Men Unleashed
"You can't mutate a mutant." Words to live by... and away we go officially into the '90s. In full disclosure I know very little about Swamp Thing. I have seen the live action movie, once. And I know a bit about his back story, but I pretty much had no idea who any of the characters in this episode were. Apparently Arcane has been Swampy's primary adversary in all of his onscreen appearances and the Un-Men were Arcane's mutant creations.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Swamp Thing
While it may be hard to fathom a world where Swamp Thing got his own animated series while the likes of The Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, and about 100 other more popular characters have not, its really not that hard to fathom at all, since that is the world in which we live.
