Crisis of Infinite Episodes - DC's World's Funnest: #9

I'm almost at a loss for words. A new low for DC Nation? So glad there is only 1 more of these stinkers to go.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - I Am the Night

I may have said it before, but I am just not a huge fan of the gangster episodes in this series. Not every episodes needs a Joker or (heaven forbid) a Penguin, but when you have Batman vs. The Jazzman, you can't really get to invested. Obviously Jazzman is going down, and hard. That being said, this particular episode did manage some suspense with Gordon taking one for the team.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Cat Scratch Fever

While Catwoman sadly never landed a breakout episode, she always did manage to land on her feet. This is another more than adequate outing for the felonious feline who opened the episode on probation as long as she vowed to abandon the Catwoman persona. But as luck would have it, Selina stumbled onto some cat thieves who caught her precious Isis. That was all she needed to bust out the catsuit.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Beware the Gray Ghost

There is nothing wrong with nostalgia, but without that factor I am guessing this episode would not rank quite so highly on many peoples Best of Batman lists. While it may not be a popular thing to say, I do find this one a tad overrated. Don't get me wrong, its a solid episode, but there are just plenty I like more. Still, there is a certain meta charm about Batman's fanaticism for his childhood hero and inspiration - maybe someday I will be a superhero and Kevin Conroy will be my sidekick.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Dreams in Darkness

Aha, and here it is. While the Scarecrow's previous appearances had been good, he hadn't quite hit it out of the park yet. Problem solved. Despite his limited screen time, this was the pinnacle for the animated series' Scarecrow. From the very beginning twist of Batman being committed to Arkham, this was a fun, mind-bending ride as we got to watch Batman lose the ability to separate reality from fantasy.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Tyger, Tyger

Tyger Tyger, burning bright,
In the forests of the night;
What immortal hand or eye,
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

Not a bad poem, unfortunately the episode didn't really live up to it. And one thing that bothered me, was Tygrus even a tiger? Looked more like Wolfus, or at best Panthrus. This episode was a real shame because Catwoman can't seem to catch a break with a truly great episode. I know this is an unfair criticism, but even though I am perfectly fine with the idea of Man-Bat in this world, gorilla and cat-people just don't seem to work for me, nor was I a huge fan of Cat-Woman... or should it be Woman-Cat?
