Breaking from the tradition of the previous animated shorts, Animal Man actually split the one-minute running time of DC Nation shorts into two separate adventures. The first of these shorts is particularly notable as it featured the very first onscreen appearance by Animal Man. I loved the style of these shorts and the humorous tone of Animal Man's fixation on a threatened mouse in the middle of a bank robbery. I also loved seeing Captain Cold as well as the Animal Man theme which announced the hero.Admittedly, there was not a lot of substance, but its hard not to love this first effort.

See Green Lantern's Animated Parallax
Courtesy of DC Nation on Facebook, it looks like Hal Jordan may be taking a turn to the dark side on an upcoming episode of Green Lantern: The Animated Series as Parallax - at least the Avarice filled version as he dons an orange power ring (or several). Oh, and Brother Warth and Sinestro have been spotted as well. Yippee kayay.
Crisis of Infinite Episodes - De-Coder (Insect)
This decoder puzzle had the added twist of Robin being super sleepy but he still solved it even though Batman gave him a good ribbing. Oh that Dark Knight and his constant joking around. Ha ha.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Coming of the Arthropods
At first the banishment of criminal bug people to Earth didn't seem such a big deal especially since they were bug sized (well maybe more like parrot sized). But their mind control ability quickly made them a force to be reckoned with.
In Memoriam Young Justice's Jason Todd
Tomorrow morning the dearly departed Jason Todd will get a shout out on the Young Justice episode, Satisfaction. Following the events of Depths in which Artemis faked death at the hands of Aqualad, the team will erect a monument to their fallen comrade. Turns out the monument is not the first of its type, but similar tributes were made to the Blue Beetle Ted Kord, Tula, and Robin. Its a safe assumption that in Earth-16 like in mainstream comics, that fallen Robin was the second hero to don the costume, Jason Todd.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - The New Adventures of the Wonder Twins: Initiation
This may be the most brilliant of the Wonder Twins spoofs. Once again, it is amazing how much of the footage was not altered and yet was utterly ridiculous. "Thats your lesson!"

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Initiation
Somehow Zan got stuck in a folding chair, but he was still deemed competent enough to go on a rescue mission eagle/ bucket style. This really was a classic episode though featuring the infamous gopher-moat used to trap a bear.

The Dark Knight and DC Nation Return
This week in DC animation is sure to put a smile on your face. On Tuesday, The Dark Knight Returns Part 1 hits store shelves adapting the first two chapters of the landmark graphic novel. Even though I am much more looking forward to Part 2, this first movie stands remarkably well on its own. Even though I dare speak heresy by saying The Dark Knight Returns as a story is a bot overrated, this adaptation is pretty well done and certainly wasn't watered down for younger audiences. But speaking of the younglings, this week also promised the long awaited return new content to DC Nation.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Safety (Crosswalks)
The only thing Wonder Woman did was commend a boy for making his mom use the crosswalk. C'mon Diana if that's all you are going to do, at least give the boy a hug rather than a handshake.
