Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Sword of the Atom: Battle of the Tiny Titans

I  may be sounding like a broken record here, but I just don't care for these shorts as much as I want to. Presumably, Sword of the Atom will wrap up after the fifth segment, but if it does I will be left asking myself, "what was the point." If nothing else, Sword of the Atom is convincing me that the 1-minute format is much better suited to comedy than action. Once again, the animation looked great, but this time the limited time was very evident. After a sword parry and attack, the Atom was hailed as possessing the strength of a demon. That's a bold claim after a 10 second fight. Anyways, its hard to pinpoint exactly what doesn't work here other than the format. I would certainly be open to a 20 minute version of this story... after all it worked like a charm in Brave and the Bold.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - The Dragon Riders

Yes, dragons vs airplanes sounds cool. This was not cool. I did kind of like Super Samurai. he was basically a Captain Marvel type kid that transformed into a giant robot samurai, but in kid form he was super lame. The episode spent about 10% of the run time showing him flying a kite. I guess there was supposed to be a moral lesson, but in the end Isis and Merlin took away the airplanes and two waring leaders decided to stop fighting. Seems the dragon army should have taken that chance to dominate a now defenseless enemy, but that's just my take.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - The Freedom Force

Although The Freedom Force aired along with The New Adventures of Batman during the animation block Tarzan and the Super 7, the Filmation series barely qualified as a DC series due to the presence of one team member, Isis. But hey, it's at least a character crossover, right?

Super History of Superman: The Adventures of Superboy (1961)

After the dismal Superpup another attempt was made to keep Superman alive on TV with The Adventures of Superboy. A pilot was made in 1961 titled Rajah's Ransom which would have featured the onscreen debut of Superboy and Lana Lang. The unaired pilot did not get picked up for a series and the live-action Superman took a long hiatus the screen. Animation, on the other hand would keep the hero alive for years to come...

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Super Heroes Create a Villain Contest

Yes, by 1983 the Super Friends had become so associated with Saturday Mornings that they were natural pitch men (and women) for cereal. I guess because there were no new episodes of Super Friends that year, the heroes had some free time to shill cereal.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - DC on Family Guy

The Simpsons is not the only show to frequently return to the well of DC comics winks, nods, and lampoons. In fact, Family Guy may have tapped the DC library even more frequently. Since I am not as well versed on Family Guy, I am sure that I am not going to give a comprehensive review, but hopefully I will hit the highlights.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - DC Universe Online Cinematic Trailer

Is it an exaggeration to call the 2010 trailer for the DC Universe Online game, "the coolest thing ever?" Maybe, but only just barely. In just a few short minutes, the Justice League are killed one by one on a war torn battlefield. The trailer includes Green Arrow, Metallo, Wonder Woman, Giganta, Green Lantern, Black Adam, Batman, Cyborg, Lex Luthor, Circe(?), Flash, Deathstroke AKA Slade, Joker, Harley Quinn, Superman, and Brainiac. This really needs to be made into a full movie.

See the Amazing New Suit for the Spider-Man Sequel

Spider-Man will be swinging in a whole new costume in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Comingsoon.net has landed an image of the costume which looks inspired by the one from the Raimi films with bigger and brighter eyes. Its a pretty big departure from the costume in the first Amazing Spider-Man movie which was a bit more "realistic," but I am glad to see the return of the webbing. Check HERE for some other possible inspiration.
