Despite the title of this segment, this was in fact Brainiac's first onscreen appearance. Something wacky must have happened with the production / airing order of the episodes. Anyway, Brainiac didn't really do much except shrink Superman and Co and then turn invisible. Then Lois got antnapped. Then Brainiac came back and the gang got enlarged.
Best Part: Brainiac and his shrink ray are mainstays of Superman lore. Its always fun seeing these early versions of classic characters. He even has the short shorts.
Worst Part: There were a couple of really lame lines. The first was actually a bit funny when Jimmy says, "I'm tired of being tiny Jim." The second was when Superman says, "I was visiting with some ants." Then whispers, "That's ants spelled A-N-T-S." Wink. Yeah Superman, I got the pun even without the wink or the spelling "bee." Ha ha.
