When was 9-1-1 started? Answer: 1968. 10 years later Wonder Woman was still recommending writing all the emergency numbers on your wall or calling the operator. Way to keep with the times. Just make sure to keep the number for the Wonder Twins wrist watch up there too.
Really? since 1968? Everywhere? I felt like it was brand new when they were telling us about it at school in the 80s.
ReplyDeleteAlso, seems like the 911 people are always complaining about people calling them for things that aren't really emergencies.
I guess in 1968 911 was not yet everywhere, but I don't think it took 10 years for a nationwide roll out. Then again, maybe it did... As far as non-emergencies, I hear periodically about people calling 911 when the local McDonalds runs out of nuggets (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,504125,00.html). Thats probably a no-no.
