Super History of Superman: Superman Vs The Elite (2012)

Superman taught us why we never want him to lose control in 2012's Superman vs. The Elite. He taught that same lesson to Manchester Black and his mates.

An Early Review of Superman vs The Elite

Although early marketing of this movie made it look like an eminent disaster, Superman vs The Elite turned out to be a solid, if slightly schizophrenic effort. Underneath the cartoony veneer, the movie's content and themes were among the most adult so far seen in a DC animated film. Following 13 DC Universe Animated Original Movies ushered in with Superman: Doomsday, The Man of Steel fittingly led the charge in the rebranded next wave of original animated films under the DC Comics Premiere Movie banner.

Meet the Elite - Three New Superman vs The Elite Clips

Three new clips have arrived showing off the members of The Elite that will face off with Superman. I have to say, these looks much better than the last clip that came out. Thank goodness! The movie needs to start building some good buzz and at least these character showcases are a step in the right direction.

Watch a Clip From Superman Vs. The Elite

The first clip from the upcoming Superman Vs. The Elite movie has been released along with a few new images. The clip introduces The Elite, the movies team of antagonist anti-heroes. Can't say I loved the clip or the movies animation, but I did hear great things from those who saw the whole film at Wondercon, so I am remaining hopeful. Just over a month to go until release.

Superman Vs. The Elite Trailer Has Landed

EDIT: Now with dialogue, which does improve it a lot. Still not sure how this story will stretch to 70+ minutes...

Unfortunately, this is not a great trailer, maybe some dialogue would help, but the animation certainly looks a lot better than early images had hinted. Since the movie has a premier this weekend at Wondercon, some reviews should be popping up soon. Thank MTV for the scoop.

Sneak Peek at Superman Vs The Elite

Included in the special features of Justice League Doom is a first look at this summer's upcoming Superman Vs. The Elite. This full costume look at Superman looks a lot better than the Jay Leno style chin shot released last week. For lack of a better word, this also has a more "cartoony" style than previous animated films, but I actually think it looks pretty good.

"The Elite, a team of super-powered antiheroes, is renowned for killing their enemies. Despite the acclaim and approval the Elite enjoy, Superman knows they are in the wrong, creating more harm than good by their methods. Tensions between them finally culminate in a mass showdown on Jupiter’s moons, when Superman is forced to prove that violence is never a positive."

The Elite Manchester Black Revealed

The SupermanHomePage was lucky enough to score an advance copy of Justice League: Doom containing a sneak peek at this summer's Superman vs. The Elite and they managed to snap a quick pic of the Elite's own leader, the nefarious Manchester Black.

First Look at Superman Vs. The Elite

Here it is folks, the first look at The Man of Steel and his blushing bride from this summer's upcoming film, Superman vs. The Elite. No, Jay Leno is not voicing Superman, and no Superman does not have a goiter, but his chin is undeniably enormous. According to TVGuide.Com, Lois Lane will be voiced by Pauley Perrette and George Newbern will reprise the role of Superman after voicing the hero in the Justice League animated series. With the release of Justice League: Doom in two weeks, more news and images should be out there soon.

Counting Down the Most Anticipated Superhero Shows of 2012 (1-10)

Without further ado I give you my most anticipated superhero shows of 2012 (Check out #11-19 here).

10) G.I. Joe: Retaliation- 29 June 2012

Its no secret that I quite enjoyed GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra for what it was. At this point I find the Joe franchise more interesting, entertaining, and surprisingly age appropriate than Hasbro's Transformers. No matter what you feel about the first one, GI Joe 2 looks to be the better movie. Cast members have been upgraded with additions of The Rock, Bruce Willis, and that girl who almost played Wonder Woman. Also, Snake Eyes lost his "gimp lips." Even though it too may get lost in the shuffle, GI Joe: Retaliation looks like it could be a near perfect summer blockbuster - you know the kind where the plot is irrelevant.

Superman Will Fight The Elite in 2012

Along with Friday night's announcement that DC would 2012 would see the release of a two-part animated adaptation of The Dark Knight Returns, DC also announced the summer release of a movie titled Superman vs The Elite. The question on everyone's mind now is, "Who are The Elite?"
