Brainiac was the alleged brains behind the town of mindless people. The stakes were pretty low here and its a shame that the new, menacing Brainiac has no plan worthy of his look.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Island of the Dinosoids

And here comes the obligatory dinosaur battle. There were a couple of redeeming elements. I enjoyed a giant Apache Chief fighting a dino - that could have gone on for a while longer. The story also had heroes transformed into dino peoples, or dinosoids. Not the worst thing ever, but this one was hardly breaking new ground.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Mr. Mxyzptlk and the Magic Lamp

And the cruel Mixed Pickle returned to tease a thief by pretending to be a genie. Mxy stayed hidden from the Super Friends making Mr. Crook get pretty cocky about his "magic lamp." Finally the Friends figured out the imp factor and once again the dummy didn't realize he was saying his name backwards. Mxy is always good for a couple laughs, and even though this wasn't terrible, it was not quite up to par with the rest of the season. The only thing I can figure - needs more Darkseid.

Surprisingly, where Superman's rainbow attack failed,  AC's straight talk worked for yet another mind over matter victory. I wish these bad episodes were all in my mind.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Once Upon a Poltergeist

Thanks to an earthquake, things were shaking in Gotham City. What could be the culprit? Turns out it was an unfriendly ghost, but not just any ghost (or poltergeist even), it was the spirit of a Mohawk Indian. The Indian was shaking Wayne Tower which he thought had been built on his burial ground. But after some cultural sensitivity training from Apache Chief the ghost was relocated to the true site with the aid of smoke signals. This was as bad as it sounds.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Colossus

After the first 3 seconds I was already mad at this one. So, there is a giant named Colossus that "walks" through space... Maybe Sir Isaac Newton can explain to me how that works. Anyways, at least he wasn't a storm cloud. Anyways, that was just the start of the Physics issues because if a cosmic colossus really put Earth in a bottle I am pretty sure everyone would die. I do like Apache Chief so it was good to give him a starring role, but really, if he could grow to the size of a galaxy, why not just do that every time? And why was Colossus more of a pain when he was normal sized than when he was a billion miles tall? This series is getting very stale.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - The Man in the Moon

In a stunning turn of events the moon was actually a giant egg. Even in his giant size, Apache Chief was still just bite-sized to the beast. But thanks to the Atom's magic lever, he was able to grow bigger than ever. They ended up welding the creature back in the moon egg... I am not sure how effective that would be though. Its not as if you could glue a chic back in an egg without killing it. Definitely a step backward as far as show quality is concerned, but I guess they can't all be home runs.

Yuna started off as a nearly invincible barbarian that could turn tanks to stone and hypnotize heroes into her slaves. From there she ended up in a tug of war with Wonder Woman which she won, and yet she eventually ran away...

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Big Foot

After trudging through 34 mediocre episode of Plastic Man and 26 abominable episodes of Plastic Family and Baby Plas, Super Friends all of a sudden seems like high art. I feel like I just witnessed Michelangelo's painting on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. And this was some good stuff too.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Super Friends of Harvey Birdman

 
Black Vulcan and Apache Chief made several appearances on the Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law series. First appearing in the 2001 episode Very Personal Injury, Black Vulcan (who preferred the name Super Volt) coined the catchphrase "in my pants." At the end of the episode Chief and Volt formed the team, the Multi-Culture Pals. Zan and Wonder Woman's leg also appeared.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Alaska Peril

If you like yetis, and who doesn't, this episode may be for you. I was left with a couple of thoughts. For the love of Pete, Apache Chief and Robin really shouldn't be playing in the snow in those skimpy outfits. Also, how did the 40 ft Abominable Snowman sneak up on Apache Chief? The whole thing built up to a satisfying battle of behemoths... at least until Apache Chief wussed out and made peace by speaking yeti.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - The Antidote

Enuk chuck! Enter Apache Chief along with Wonder Woman tasked with finding a giant cobra in order to synthesize an antidote from cobras... Sure I guess I can go with that. The cobras alone sold me, but the poison dart flowers were the icing on the cake. So far, the mix of episodes in these all new hours have been a lot of fun. The plots have been pretty ridiculous, but the brisk pace has kept things entertaining. Can't wait to "meet" Samurai. Oh, does "enuk chuck" really translate to "big man" in Apache? and its a good thing his pants grew too without him having to say "big pants."
