Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Year - 2

And another year has drawn to a close and while year one stretched four decades from 1941 until 1977, year two of this project spanned a much more condensed period of just five years (1977-81). The first years theme could have been Filmation Nation, but year 2 was all about the Super Friends. Of course, there was a dash of Freedom Force and a splash of Plastic Man for flavor, but the Super Friends were the main course.

Even though I am still in the midst of Plasti-mania I would have to give stand out status to the Super Friends episodes Universe of Evil, Secret Origins of the Super Friends, and The Collector. Those three episodes each represented the best of their three separate seasons and illustrate that even zany series can be a lot of fun.

I am at a current count of 383 episodes but am aiming to hit the 400, 500, and 600 marks during year 3. As we go forward into the third year we will officially enter the 80's and although the decade started strong, it became quite barren by the end just in time for a major 90's revitalization.

In the next few months I will wrap up the Super Friends era once and for all and enter into the realm of some lesser known series including Swamp Thing, WildC.A.T.s, Shazam! and the 80's Superman. But the series I look forward to the most has to be the epic Batman: The Animated Series which ushered in the new age of the DC Animated Universe. If you haven't started following along yet, this would be a good time to jump aboard.
