Summer of Hex Lovers

If there is one hero that deserves his own summer, it probably wouldn't be Jonah Hex. Nevertheless 2010 is the year of Hex who joins Steel and Elektra as a lesser known superhero to headline a major motion picture. Following the June live-action film, Hex will appear in an animated short on the Batman: Under the Red Hood DVD. Beans Spilt on DC's Next Animated Movie

Along with the special features for the upcoming Batman: Under the Hood, the name of the next animated movie was listed as Superman/Batman Apocalypse. This confirms a rumor that sprung up in February when WB's German site listed the movie as Superman/Batman: Journey to the Dark Side. Between references to Darkseid and Apokolips and the fact that the comic book sequel to Public Enemies featured Darkseid and Apokolips, it seems a fair bet that the movie will tell the Supergirl from Krypton story which reintroduced Supergirl to modern continuity. Expect the movie to arrive around September 2010.

#10 DC Heroes: Justice League of America: Between Two Armies

1967's DC Heroes episodes weren't the best written stories ever told, but one thing they were was historic. Between Two Armies was the first onscreen presentation of the Justice League, and the Green Lantern was right there in its first line up.

Another Megamind Trailer Elicits More Yawns

While better than the teaser, this just seems like a ripoff of so many things like Austin Powers and the Incredibles. Also, there weren't any hints of the potentially interesting "villain turns hero" plot line that was originally rumored.

Smallville Season X - The Final Chapter

After 10 years and after besting nearly all of Superman's classic enemies, Clark Kent will finally be ready to become Superman. Smallville Season 10 will be the last. Will we finally see flights and tights? I sure hope so. It's not that I particularly want Smallville to end, but I think most people still watching are watching because they want to see the end- the end being Superman, in costume, flying. And, while cool, this single frame from the season 9 finale doesn't count:


So, what does season X promise? Due to mentions of Apokolips and sightings of a possible Granny Goodness (see below), the rumor mill says Darkseid. Since he is the one major villain left, I am all for it. I just hope Lex rears his bald head at least one last time before the end.
