First introduced in 1958 in the pages of Showcase #17, the jet pack toting Adam Strange was a defender of the aliens on the planet Rann ala John Carter of Mars.

Marvel's The Avengers Aims To Infinity and Beyond

Disney must be feeling pretty good about their $4 billion investment in purchasing Marvel a couple years back as Marvel's The Avengers has already passed the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office thanks in part for its record breaking $103 million second weekend take in the US. With a few hundred million more likely, the gauntlet has been thrown down and Batman may have a tough time rising to the challenge. Either way, The Avengers performance has to be a good thing for the future of Superhero movies. The genre is as alive and well as it ever has been. Hopefully this will open the doors for the likes of the Flash, Wonder Woman, and the Justice League as well as for other Avengers like Miss Marvel, Ant-Man, and Black Panther. Its a good time to be a geek.

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Metamorpho: The Element Man

 
If you could add just one more hero to the Filmation line-up it would naturally be Metamorpho: The Element Man. Well, believe it or not, a Metamorpho series was not only planned (as were series for Plastic Man and Wonder Woman), the dude actually got a pilot made - though no one has ever seen it. Here is some proof.

First Look at DC Nation's Vibe

During the conclusion of this morning's DC Nation block, the animated Vibe was revealed. Vibe will be appearing in a pair of shorts next week, Enter Extreme-O Parts One and Two. Learn more about Vibe here. 

It was also revealed to day that in two weeks not only will we be treated to a fourth Super Best Friends Forever short, but the first in a series of Sword of the Atom shorts. Spotlight on Green Arrow

Not only did Superman Batman Apocalypse hit stores today, but the DVD contained an all new short featuring the Emerald Archer. Oliver Queen AKA Green Arrow first appeared in 1941's More Fun Comics #73 (despite what the cover depicts).

Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Holy Bat Couch Gag!

Truly cementing its legendary status, the Adam West Batman series was immortalized by a Simpsons couch gag in 2003 during the series 15th season. The animated opening sequence featured America's favorite family sliding down bat-poles into their Simpsons cave dressed as members of the Bat-family.
