Crisis of Infinite Episodes - The Fantastic FRERPs

During the leisurely opening sequence, we were treated to a day on the golf course with all of the Super Friends getting to demonstrate their trick golf shots including an underwater swing by Aquaman. A lost ball led Marvin unto the tracks of King Plasto, a dude with eggs of silly putty AKA (Fiber Reinforced Epoxy Resin Plastic) FRERP that could pretty much turn into anything.

Once again an idea worthy of 6-minutes was dragged out for 45. The villains didn't even really have a plan, other than to make more FRERPs. I think that this series would be better enjoyed if watched during that state halfway between sleep and waking. Another aspect of this series that I haven't really gotten into is that the villains often have really odd sidekicks. In one episode, the sidekick constantly spoonerized the first letters of words. And I mean constantly. This time, "King" Plasto was accompanied by a lute playing Jester. This show was really weird. I am so glad its not 1973. It certainly is no wonder the series got retooled. To think, if this was what I had to look forward to each Saturday as a kid, I probably would just have slept in.
