Crisis of Infinite Episodes - Superman Serial

In 1948, a few years after the animated Superman's successful foray into theatrical serials, the live-action Superman serial debuted. This 15-parter told the story of Superman beginning on the ill fated Krypton up until, as Clark Kent, he began to work for the Daily Planet. In this adventure, Superman faced off against his timeless foe, the Spider Lady - wait who!? Although the black and white production was mostly done in live action, for technical and budgetary reasons, the in flight sequences were all done with animation. The result was a bit strange but I guess people didn't know any better back then.

  1. In fact, the in flight sequences in the current movies are all done with (CGI) animation.

  2. That is a really good point, but the animation here wasn't quite as seemless.
