Rather than trying to retread the sacred ground of Batman: The Animated Series, Brave and the Bold was wisely envisioned as a team-up show- though focusing on lesser knows like the Blue Beetle and Green Arrow rather than big guns like Superman and Wonder Woman. Even the shows choice of Guy Gardner as the primary Green Lantern was a break from tradition.
Although the series has fun with Batman's rich history, the show never makes fun of the Batman. Some of the "classic tales" revisited were the Super Batman of Zur-En-Arrh
Gotham by Gaslight
The Brave and the Bold debuted in 2008 with an order for 26 episodes which as of now has been increased to 65 ( a number that few superhero shows exceed). With just over half of the episodes having aired, its safe to say the show has won over man skeptics and may have a bit of its own legacy where The Batman has already begun to be forgotten.
