Ghost Rider (2007) - Discount Review

Heroes: The Ghost Rider(s)

Villains: Mephisto AKA Mephistopheles and Blackheart

Diabolical Scheme: Blackheart wanted a contract for souls that for some reason would make him super powerful - even though he was already invulnerable. Mephisto wanted Ghost Rider to stop him.

Coolest Moment(s): The scene in which Ghostie drove up the side of a building leaving a trail of fire was awesome, but the absolute coolest part was when the Ghost Rider rode side by side with the old west Ghost Rider complete with demon horse.

Worst Moment: Immediately after the two Riders "rode" 500 miles to face Blackheart, the old timer wished Ghost Rider well and left. What was the point!?

Opening Weekend: $45,388,836

Total Domestic Box Office: $115,802,596

Review in 50 Words or Less: Its an overstatement to call this Marvel's worst movie, its merely a really poor one. At least the parts with the rider are visually impressive and fun, though too few and far between. But 45 minutes of  Johnny Blaze backstory leading up to the first  transformation was brutal.

For the Record: Worse Marvel movies include Elektra, all the 1990's low budget movies (Captain America, Punisher, Fantastic Four), Fantastic Four 2005, and of course Howard the Duck. This is pretty even with Daredevil.
