Onscreen History of Cyborg

Booyah! Victor Stone AKA Cyborg was first introduced in the pages of DC Comics Presents #26 in 1980 along with fellow New Teen Titans Raven and Starfire. After a horrific accident, Victor was fitted with experimental prosthetics to save his life becoming the part man, part machine Cyborg.

Shortly after his comic book introduction, Cyborg was introduced as the newest member of The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians in 1985. Cyborg played a prominent role in the final incarnation of the Super Friends. His first ever onscreen appearance in the season premier Seeds of Doom focused on Cyborg's recruitment by fellow teen Firestorm onto the team. In a later episode, Cyborg would be turned into Cyzarro aka Cyborg-Bizarro by the troublesome imp Mr. Mxyzptlk

Although it never came to be, the original pitch for the 2000 animated Justice League series included a lineup of teen League members including Robin, Impulse, and Cyborg... only this Cyborg was a woman. The Justice League promo ran just a minute or so and gave Cyborgirl just a few seconds to shine.

Cyborg returned to prominence in the 2003 Teen Titans series in which the hero briefly led the Titans East, was turned into a bear, contracted a crazy computer virus, and made a sweet ride out of the T-car.

In 2006, Cyborg made his live action debut on Smallville in an episode titled Cyborg. Although normal looking on the outside, x-ray vision revealed Cyborg's complex mechanical innards.

During Smallville's sixth season, a silver clad Cyborg joined Clark Kent, Green Arrow, Aquaman, and Impulse in founding the Justice League in the series episode Justice.

Later in the 2006 Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo direct to video movie, Cyborg and the Titans traveled to Japan where he took on an all you can eat buffet.

In 2010's Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths an evil Crime Syndicate goatee wearing counterpart to Cyborg was revealed on a parallel Earth.

Later in 2010, Cyborg joined the Justice League line-up in a promotional cartoon made by Imaginext which reunited the Super Friends in The Joker's Playhouse. With Cyborg gearing up to join the the Justice League in the comics, its a sure thing we haven't seen the last of him onscreen.

UPDATE 18 October 2011

It has been revealed that Cyborg will join the League line up in 2012's Justice League: Doom.
